CHARTS USED TO DETERMINE EYE/HAIR COLOR AND SEX OF A BABY?

okay i remember making these charts in science class in high school but i cannot remember the name or how to make them now? they were like t-charts that helped determine the probability of having a baby with blue eyes or brown eyes and the sex based on the parents…if anyone has any in site into this id appreciate it cause my bf has no clue what im talking about so i sound crazy lol!

You’re thinking of Punnet Squares.

Oh the square things where you put the male genes on one side and the females on the other and mix in the middle to predict?

Parents eye colors = what color their childrens eyes would be?

I’m not really sure how to word this, but is there a chart or percents of what the color of their baby’s eyes will be?

Examples : Parents with both brown eyes = their babies will have Green Eyes?

Answer by Mrs. Waite
Me and my ex have brown hair and brown eyes. My son was born with blonde hair and blue eyes (my dad had blonde hair and blue eyes, everyone else has dark features).

A few years ago I remember checking out a site that had something like that. I don’t remember what/where the site was…

My husband and I both have the same color green eyes, and both of my kids ended up with blue. My husband’s parents have hazel eyes, and my dad has dark brown eyes, and my mom has green. My grandpa on the other hand, had the prettiest blue eyes, and my husbands brother also has blue eyes.

Honestly, their eye color can come from anywhere in the gene pool.

Yes, there is a chart actually. The book that i really read up on throughout both of my pregnancies is “im pregnant” lol i know, pretty blunt. there are sooo many different ways to determine the color that your baby’s eyes will be. although in most books that you read you will find that blue and brown are the dominant eye colors. if it comes down to blue and brown…the more dominant would be brown. although if blue eyes run more on both sides of the family and one of you have brown eyes, your chances of having a blue eyed baby is higher. green eyes are more rare to get. usually the only way that a child can get green eyes would be if either the mother or father has green eyes. if the grandmother or grandfather on either side have green eyes there is that possibility. after all that is the excitement of pregnancy. there are so many possibilities and different genetics that determine eye color.

My husband and I both have green eyes.

Our first son has DARK brown eyes, our second son has blueish/brownish (very odd color- blue around the outside, brownish in the middle- but VERY pretty)

Can’t wait to see what our third baby has!

Your question got me interested so I found this link! I was SO hoping my baby would get my blue eyes, but my husband’s brown eyes seem to be more likely!

You have to look to both of your parents for that one. If your mom has brown eyes and your husband’s mom has brown eyes, then your chances are 25% it will be anything but brown. You can look up Punnet Squares online…maybe they have one for that sort of thing?
